The lesson program is run by Deb Henry at North Peak Riding Academy.

Lesson Program Information:

They offer lessons for all levels of riders.  The lesson horses and ponies are well trained and we take exceptional care to ensure their health and well-being. Whether you or your child are looking to take your first riding lesson, or are an experienced rider, they have options in our program to fit your needs.  View our lesson program information flyer.

  • Introduction to Horsemanship Lessons (IH Lessons): riders start as young as 6 years old. IH lessons are taught in a private setting, until the rider has the skills necessary to successfully move into a group. Riders learn to care for, groom and tack up their horses, in addition to mounted instruction.  *
**All riders new to our program are required to sign up for at least one IH Lesson so that we can assess their riding level and recommend an appropriate group.
  • Group lessons: Once riders possess the necessary skills, they are moved into one of our group lessons. There are group lesson options for all levels and interests. Beginner, flatwork, jumping, or adult-only lessons.
  • Adult lessons: Whether you are wanting to try horseback riding for the first time as an adult, or have ridden your entire life, there are group lessons options just for the grownups!

Lease Program:

For riders in our program that want more time in the saddle and the opportunity to practice  outside of lessons, North Peak Riding Academy offers a half-lease program. Instructor approval is required, and riders must remain enrolled in regular weekly lessons in order to be eligible to lease. All tack and equipment is provided.
• Level 1 lease: 4 practice rides per month $220
• Level 2 lease: 6 practice rides per month $320
• Level 3 lease: 8 practice rides per month $410

Schooling Shows:

Three to four on-site schooling shows are offered per year, with classes for all levels of riders. Riders are judged and win ribbons and prizes. All riders in our lesson program are eligible to participate in schooling shows, using their lesson horses and ponies.

Upcoming schooling show dates:

  • Sunday August 24, 2014

Upcoming Camps:

All camps are run by North Peak Riding Academy at North Peak Equestrian Center.  Our camps are unique in that the enrollment is small (8-10 riders per camp per week) so each camper gets lots of one on one attention, lessons tailored to their individual skill level, and their own horse or pony to care for and ride for the entire week!

North Peak Riding Academy offers unique and exciting camp experiences for ages 6 to 16!  Our enrollment is small (8 to 10 riders per camp week), so riders get plenty of individual instruction and attention, and lessons tailored to their individual skill level.

Aspiring equestrians learn to groom and tack up their horses, will receive 2 full riding lessons each day, and get their own horse or pony to care for throughout the week.  Each camp week finishes with a horse show, where riders get to show off the skills they have learned (as well as their elaborately decorated mounts) to friends and family.  Additional activities include classroom lessons on other aspects of horse care, demonstrations by equestrian professionals (riders, veterinarians, farriers, etc), and horse-related arts/crafts and games.

For those riders who already possess basic riding skills, we offer a Level 2 camp, in which more advanced skills are taught in jumping, dressage and trail riding, as well as more in-depth classroom lessons on horse care and training. (Instructor approval required to enroll in Level 2 camps.)
